You do not get any points for asking a question. You only get points for:
- Answering a question (+10 points)
- Rate an answer (+1 point per rating)
- Log in once each day (+5 points)
- Receive positive rating (+1 point)
- Link to Blurtit (+100 points per link)
- Invite friend via E-mail (+10 points)

You don't get points for asking, but you do get them for answering, and leaving ratings, and getting ratings. Hope this helps you out.
