You seem to feel he should be the same person he was when you met him. People change, and we have to be flexible and adjust to this. You say he has received money from his father's estate, this may be making him feel more confident, as he feels more secure this can make his behaviour seem cheeky, or even thoughtless.
You may be right, he may be wrong. The fact is if you want to have a relationship with this man, you cannot ignore what he says, even If you do not agree, since he makes up one half of the whole.
His opinions do count, and you should respond to this observation of his, because that is how he feels.
Ask him in a non-threatening way, not in the heat of the battle, what he means by this, and perhaps you will learn something, it is worth a try.
If he does not consider you feelings after this, you need to consider moving on, because he may have wanted a leaning post, and now that his situation has changed, he may resent you still being there, in which case you should consider if he is worth giving up your life for.
