No, it was not a New Year's resolution. My daughter just had a baby in August, at home, and I delivered my granddaughter. My daughter had packed on some weight and was over 215 lbs. She has been modifying her meals and has lost over 45 pounds and looks great so far. I decided I too wanted to loose weight since I was about 196. So far I have lost 14 pounds and am trying to loose more. My goal would be to get down to 130 which is my ideal weight. I recently injured my back and hip so loosing weight will hopefully make it easier for my body to heal since it won't have excess weight to deal with when moving about.
I take iodoral an iodine supplement along with selenium, vanadium, fish oil, vitamin C tablets to increase my bodies ability to process and use the iodoral, a multi vitamin, and a few other minerals. Taking these daily has helped me to loose weight along with cutting down the quantity of food I eat, cutting down to just 1 small cup of tea, whereas I used to drink 6-8 cups of tea (sweetened) and making a choice to eat just 2 meals a day, 3 if the last one is about half the normal portion.
I don't exercise at all because of my back and hip injury. I generally sit at my computer all day and that is how I came upon this website, Blurtit. I thought for sure I would not loose any weight because I am not exercising, but now it is starting to melt off a pound or two a day. It is so nice!

I think you are great. Keep up the good work. I'm back on my program of walking and eating less. I need to lose about 30 lbs. I regained them from my loss of 150 lbs..health and can sure mess with your weigh, but trying to stop the upward claim on the scales.
