The male condom is around 85-98 percent effective in preventing pregnancies while the female condom is around 79-95 percent efficient doing the same job.
Cervical Caps are smaller versions of Diaphragm. They are totally incapable of preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and should under no circumstance be employed with that aim. They have a 15 percent chance of failure when used as a contraceptive. They function as a barrier and contain spermicide to eliminate all sperm that is deposited. It's a lot like a fire and forget missile used by aircrafts as it can be fitted for up to two to three days at a time.
