What Is A Healthy Sodium Intake Level For Adults?

Trying to find a diet with low sodium

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you are talking about common salt, the figure for an adult is a maximum of 6g daily.  You can use "lo-salt" as a substitute but it is better just to get used to food that tastes less salty.  Use other spices in your cooking and you won't notice the lower salt so much.

Other than advice from the Food Standards Agency, who cite "experts" what is the provenance of this advice? I can find no published research to support it.
