What's The Song Funky Cold Medina About? Is It About The Date Rape Drug?

No, no. not at all!  Funky Cold Medina is a hip hop song by Young MC performed by rap artist Tone Loc which narrates his adventures as he tries to find a woman.

In the song Tone notices that a nobody guy in his local bar is amazingly successful 'Why are you so fly?' with the ladies (or bitches if you will).  His friend tells him that the secret is a magic potion which is called Funky Cold Medina.  At first he tests the potion on his dog, and the dog is chased by all the bitches (and this time I mean lady-dogs) in the neighbourhood.  Next he tries it out on a girl called Tina who he meets in a bar, but she turns out to be a transvesite.
Next he goes on a TV show called Love Connection, but the girl gets very serious and wants to marry him on their first date.

Now the key to the song not being about Rohypnol or any other such type of drug, is that he does not slip it in to their drinks or food or whatever, instead HE takes the Medina.  The lines goes:

"Put a little Medina in YOUR (his) glass and the girls'll come real quick'.
