Wounds in pets are matter of concern for owners. Self treatment of wounds can be helpful as first aid but not for complete treatment. You are expecting 2-3 days delay for pet visit which can make your cat infected. You have done right things to start first aid. While giving her treatment take following steps.

    • Take help from other person to hold the cat as he can bite you due to pain.
    • If she is bleeding then use pressure bandage especially towel to cease blood.
    • Trimming of hairs from the surrounding area of the wound can be helpful.
    • Use gloves while treating her
    • You can use hydrogen per oxide or antiseptic lotion to clean the wound if she is not bleeding and there is no scab.
    • If there is scab then remove it by soaking with warm water
    • Put on bandage and replace it after 12 hours along with cleaning the wound with antiseptic lotion
    • Use of antibiotic like clindacure.
