Why Do You Choose A Specific Field Of Study?

Answer Question

I do not know what field of study you are referring to. I imagine this is a question you presume may be asked of you in an interview. The chances are if, you are a young person this will be a question some interviewer may ask. However, it is on a list of uninformative questions for interviewers, which means it really is not a question of great value in assessing the knowledge and skills of a potential job candidate.

However, let's see now, how would I answer this question since I am a retired teacher. I think,  I would answer this way, if, someone were to ask me this question. I chose this area of study, because when I was in grade school, I had a difficult time learning; I was always in the lowest reading group. When I began college I decided I would become a teacher and learn how to teach children not only to read, but to become a good reader. I studied long and hard, as I put into practice the reading skills, I would later teach children. I became a good reader and I am a good teacher. I know I made the right choice! Now I want to teach children to become good readers.
