What Does 'Dihybrid Cross' Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A dihybrid cross is basically a cross that brings together two hybrids for mating in order to determine the dominant genes as well as recessive genes. The hybrid cross mainly has a diversity of uses in Mendelian genetics and genetic linkage experiments.

It is also mostly referred to as double heterozygote. It is usually denoted in the following terms Aa Bb X Aa Bb. In this case one parent precedes the X (mostly female) and another parent (usually male) follows the X.
