There are indeed various natural remedies you could try during labour which may help with the pain. In the early stages of labour it is recommended that you relax as much as possible, perhaps even have a bath and try and do gentle stretches through the contractions. Try not to think of the pain, instead think of the contractions as something strange which needs your full attention.

There is a remedy called the five flower remedy which can be taken either during the birth or afterwards and around 20 drops of it should be added to spring water in order for it to work. An aromatic spray is good for relaxing you which does help to take your mind off the labour a little. If the labour has been going on for some time Larch may be useful to aid with loss of confidence and Mimulus can help with fear. Take these in addition to both Walnut and the five flower remedy.

Overall there are various different natural remedies you could try but it is always better to check with the midwife what you should and shouldn't take.
