Do Steam Ovens Need Venting?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

I would think a steam oven would need venting -- if you had a heavy concentration of steam that just continued to build, you would have a dangerous pressure build up in the oven compartment, plus that, the foods that you had cooking would be overwhelmed with excess water as the steam condensated and dripped into them.  Also, if you wanted to keep a constant temperature in the oven, it would be near impossible to do with all that built up heat not being able to be vented.
