I work outside, but am living with parents. However, I will occasionally make dinner on the weekends about once a fortnight or a month.

I work full time, so does my partner; but as a rule I cook a hot meal 4 - 7 evenings a week (after a 35 - 44 hour week too)

I never make dinner because I cant cook anything except toast and if I tried I might end up setting something on fire! so I'm not allowed near the oven. My father usually cooks it and I'm getting tired of potatoes.I live at home but go to school for work.

I make dinner every night as I live with my elderly Mother. i mostly work from home and am a part time research student at a local university.
If you're under a lot of pressure what about doing a rota - everyone can have a turn?
It depends on the rest of the household and their ages. If you have older children and a partner they could all take a turn at getting the dinner.
Don't feel guilty if you can't do everything and it's reasonable that the family should help if they're capable and old enough to help. If you have a working partner they should be able to take some of the pressure from you.
It's different if your a lone parent but teenage children can be very good cooks.
One solution is to get everyone to help at the weekends and have a big cook and freeze session for the week ahead. This is a good way of making sure that there are meals for the whole week made in advance.

I make dinner five times a week. I work from home, and I am busy the entire day, but I firmly believe that my family must eat home cooked fresh food, prepared lovingly at home. My children, my husband, and I am healthy to date..
We are not obese, we eat good food, and we are all happy.
However, I would not mind if my husband were to cook sometimes, at least twice a week, which he will not do!
