Will Plaster Crumble If You Turn Off The Heat In Winter?

We leave Connecticut for the winter and would like to turn off our heat. We would drain the pipes. One person told us that our plaster would fall. It is an old house. We would like to save on our heating bill.

Definitely turn off the heat. Its best for your pocket and the house. The heating system can create problems and without you in the house, no one would be there to help. So its best if you  turn off the heat in winters if you are leaving.
