Remember that if you have job experience, in your covering letter you need to actually link that experience to the job at hand. It would typically be inserted in your covering letter's body. You obviously need an introduction followed by body and then closing. Link how it is your experience would relate to the role that has been advertised.

You would include not just past experience but also skills and qualifications. Also this cover letter of yours should specifically be designed to target to that precise coveted position and of course, that company. Remember, you're selling yourself so concentrate on fulfilling the probable needs of the employer. Stick to the point and always demonstrate how positive you are. Avoid making this letter a repetitive summary or all-out repeat of your resume.
