Recycling is important because it saves energy, reduces rubbish in landfill sites and cuts the cost of waste disposal. Recycling is a brilliant way to use your rubbish to make something new out of. For example your can of Coke could be used to make another can of coke once it has been recycled meaning that instead of wasting more material to make another can it has used what was already a can.

If you don't already recycle your household waste you should certainly start. Your local council should be able to either provide a special collection bin or tell you where your nearest recycling point is.

If you are unsure about what should be recycled your council should also be able to provide you with guidelines on this. Commonly recyclable items include paper, cans, plastic wrappings, newspaper and magazines and glass.

The Earth is finite in size, and the commodities the Earth provides are, also, limited. Recycling helps expand what we have so that we don't run out of the good things, and suffocate under a heap of useless rubbish.

The earth is surrounded by a layer of gases called the ozone layer. We need to preserve the ozone layer because it protects the earth and if it wasn't there we would die. Recycling helps to preserve it because wasting recyclable stuff makes a thing called chlorofluorocarbon(or cfc), which damages the Ozone layer, and if the Ozone layer gets too damaged the earth will become uninhabitable. That's why recycling is important.

The term recyling is just by using again a certain thing instead of throwing it away on the garbage, to avoid waste of materials.
