See it doesn't have a literal meaning. So don't try to map the meaning of the Language or the word directly to computer technology. See let me tell you why they named like c,c++,java etc.,
AT and bell laboratories are the one to develop C,c++, etc;,
And to be more precise they started with a programming language named A,then came B and then C where the successors are better than their previous one. And C++ uses advanced concepts and hence the name.
Similarly the name JAVA came because the team which worked hard to develop that language have been active and enthusiastic. They drank JAVA coffee to keep them active and hence the name. You could see the famous Coffee cup being used as representation for JAVA.
Other than that there are no particular reason/ meaning i could tell you
