Mixed economy may incorporate more than one facets of economic theory. Its usually a mix of socialism and capitalism. So that we have state owned and privately governed corporates at the same time. The kickback comes from reaping the benefits of both systems. The government manages control and maintains certain standards in calibrating a more 'people oriented' approach. At the same time it ensures certain checks on privately governed bodies.
