A three-dimensional miniature or life-size scene in which figures, stuffed wildlife, or other objects are arranged in a naturalistic setting against a painted background. For example a child at school had to make a diorama as a project and would use a shoe box and draw fish and hang them on string and stick it to the box and use blue cellophane to make the background look like water and the fish move around when you move the box. Like a miniature sea full of fish.
