As we normally see a web page that display some information and data elements. There are different links on a web page that are used to move to other places on the web site and other domains as well.When any link on a web page is clicked by a user, the browser displays this new page as directed by that link.

The previous page vanishes from the browser window. If you want to access some other links on that previous page, you have to move back to that page by some link. Thus, it requires you to move back and forth between pages because browser displays only one web page at a time.This limitation gave rise to a technology that overcame it. Frames are used to handle this limitation of browser.

Frames are actually the container of web page. By using the frames we can display more than one web page in he browser window at a time. A web page can contain many frames and each frame can display a different web page. These different web pages work independently but they appear simultaneously in the browser window. The HTML tag is used to specify the number and style of frames on a web page.

Frames are a method of separating pieces of a web page. For instance, you may create a frame for a menu on the left and a frame for the content on the right side of a web page.
You can then define the content of each frame individually - for instance you don't need to re-load the entire menu if you switch to a different content page.
