How Do You Repair A Kitchen Aid Dishwasher?

I have Kitchen Aid. It was making loud noises during the washing cycles. Like a metal screw inside a gear that sounds like metal to metal. Now when the water fills in the dishwasher it does nothing but the electric heat coil comes on and hots and steams the water. Is it the pump broken?

    Hi dblloyd2,

I would call the Kitchen Aid number on the inside of the dishwasher door.  I can tell you that to have a service technician come out to do a diagnosis is $65 in Las Vegas and that the cost will be deducted from the actual repair cost if you have them do it for you.

I just had a Kitchen Aid tech here about 5 weeks ago to check out my stove - the broiler wasn't working.  Well, it was going to cost $815 to fix.  Now why would I do something stupid like that when I can go to Home Depot and buy a brand new Maytag stove for $650 and get the warranty that goes with it?  No brainer, although I REALLY, REALLY miss my Kitchen Aid stove!

    Good luck!
