Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Threads is the name of a T.V docudrama created and broadcast by BBC in the year 1984. It deals with the consequences of a nuclear war on England and its repercussions. The writer of the docudrama was Barry Hines and it was directed by Mick Jackson. Threads was envisaged as the British equivalent of the scandalous American TV movie called The Day After. The principle that Threads was based on was to conjecture the after effects of a nuclear war on the UK following an agreement that took place between the Soviet Union and the United States spirals to involve the UK.

The term 'threads', is also used in slang usage to denote the clothes that a person is wearing. For example, 'those are some neat threads you have on'.
