What Is A Copper Alloy Made Of?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Copper is the major metal.  It is an alloy when another metal is added.

So, copper alloys will always have copper. Common alloying materials are zinc, tin, aluminum, silicon, and nickel.  The % of copper vs the % of alloying metal will determine the final property of the alloy.  There are many different ratios that can be used to produce a variety of materials with differing  tensile strength, hardness, and practical uses.
