To create a new screen name, you have to log on to the Internet and go to any of the Web-based e-mail service providers such as Yahoo, Google, Hotmail or America Online (which is abbreviated as AOL).
Once you have logged on to any of these websites, you will be asked whether you are a new user and want to sign up. When you click on this option, you will be redirected to a form where you have to key in your personal details such as your name, address, contact number, preferred e-mail address and password, etc.
All the Web-based e-mail service providers keep your personal details (such as your password) confidential, but there is no guarantee of your password remaining secure form hackers, that is people who hack into your e-mail account. Hackers are unscrupulous people who ensure that the contents of your e-mail account are leaked out into the public domain.
