What Should I Do If My Sleep Apnea Seems To Be Remaining The Same After My Settings Have Increased?

I have been on a CPAP machine in March 2008 since being diagnosed with Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea after a sleep study I had in February 2008. I was at a setting of 6 cm and didn't start feeling the improvements until about April 23 or so. I had a follow up sleep study in early April which caused me to have my settings changed to 8 cm. Since then I have been finding that my sleep is slowly falling back to the way it was before. Should I have my settings decreased?

There are many causes of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In adult major causes are obesity and alcohol. If your are drinking alcohol and are obese then you will continue to adjust your CPAP machine. You have to reduce your weight and cholesterol. You can adjust your machine. Usually you can adjust 4-14 but now CPAP machines can be adjusted to 25 or 30. Before doing this discuss with your doctor.
