I Have A Male Boxer, 5 Months Old As Of 6/21. He Has Always Snored. Why?

Lately I have seen what I thought was a (bogger)sorry but looked closer, it was skin. The nose was full of skin. What should I do? Should I take him to the vet? 1st. Time Boxer parent. F.feet Huge

Boxers have tendency to snore because of their shortened nose.  This is nothing to be alarmed about because it normal within the breed.  They also tend to wheeze and make other snorting sounds because of this.   If the skin inside of your dogs nose is a concern for you take him to the vet and have it examined by a professional.  Even if there is nothing wrong at least you'll have peace of mind!

I agree with above. The shorter the dog's nose, the more breathing "problems" are experienced. I have a chihuahua, he suffers from allergies, and sometimes struggle to breathe. He also snores, and when he gets too excited, he starts snorting, as the throat passage swells (his tongue goes purple).

It will be safer if a vet can examine your specific concern with the skin, just to give you peace of mind.

Believe me, nothing is a silly question to a vet when it comes to animals:)
