    The name of the tallest man in the world is Robert Pershing Wadlow, as per 'Guinness World Records' affirms. He was born on 22nd February, 1918 and passed away on 15th July, 1940. His height reached to 8ft 11.1inches or 2.72m at the time of his dying.

    The parents of R. P. Wadlow were Harold Franklin and Addie Wadlow. During his birth, his height was quite normal with a weight about 8lbs 6ounces or 3.8kgs. At the age of 10, he became 6ft 6inches tall, while at his 13, he turned into 7ft 4inches tall. By the age of 18, he became 8ft 4inches and soon he broke all the known records of human height with a height of 8ft 6inches at the age of 19.

    Only 18days prior to his untimely death caused by an infection at the age of 22, his height had reached to 8ft 11.09inches. As per doctors report, this unusual height was due to a malformation within his pituitary gland.
