Where Do Gnats Come From And How Can You Get Rid Of Them?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The most commonly encountered gnats are called as fruit flies and, other kinds being fungus gnats. They are fairly harmless but are considered by many to be annoying pests.
One generally encounters gnats in numbers, they are hardly ever alone.

Gnats generally get attracted to rotting or decaying food, which is why one sees them flying around near garbage cans. Once gnats arrive at a place, it is very difficult to get them out. So it is best to prevent them for infesting in the first place. You need to take small basic steps like covering garbage cans, cleaning out the sink, not leaving unwashed dishes around, etc.

However, if you already have gnats in your house, try spraying them with any ordinary insect spray and they will be out. If it turns into an infestation however, get a specialist to get the deal done.

You can also purchase a indoor fogger, something like Raid or Spectricide that you use and
then leave your house for 3-4 hours.  This will kill any pests you have in your home.  Gnats
