    My Dog Has An Undescended Testicle And The Vet Says He Probably Will Need Surgery Or He Might Get Cancer. Is This Correct?

    Our pom had the same thing. When he was neutered the vet said that it could have become a serious issue as he matured but never mentioned cancer. Good luck.

      Yes, your vet is correct. Retained testicles can develop cancer and are therefore best removed.
      However, if your dog is less than eighteen months old it may be worth waiting for a while, as sometimes a testicle can drop very late. Beyond eighteen months - get it removed or you risk losing your lovely dog too young.
