What Could Be The Cause Of Loose Bowels With A Lot Of Mucus?
My dog seems to be a little under the weather and has had 3-4 very loose bowel movements. Should I not feed him. Am planning on rice and chicken tonight
Answers
If you want to feed him (and it might be best not to for a day or so) then rice and chicken would be the best thing to give, as they are bland and wont irritate the stomach further. Keep plenty of water available. Mucus in the stools generally happens after a lot of diarrhoea, so it may clear up soon.

Take a stool sample into your vet!!!! Our puppy just had the SAME symptom which turned out to be Coccidiosis and Giardia!! Either will cause this. Not saying it is, but it is easy to treat and then you will know.

Hi ndgeegee,
I would check with my vet before feeding my dog rice and chicken. He may not want the dog to eat just now and he may want a stool sample. Call before you do anything.
