    CNN is the popular acronym for the Cable News Network. It was founded as a part of the Ted Turner Broadcasting System in the year 1980 by media baron Ted Turner. It was the first new network to introduce the concept of a round the clock or 24 hour news coverage. It is available in 88.2 million homes in the United States and is one of America's most popular new channels that ranks second only to Fox News.

    The headquarters of CNN are located in Atlanta and it also broadcast from its Washington, DC and New York City studios. In the year 2005, CNN celebrated its 25th Anniversary. It goes by the slogan 'The Most Trusted Name in News' and is remembered most for its coverage of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the Iraq War.
