How Can I Found Out If My Decease Spouse Had Mortgage Protection Insurance?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    1. Check the mortgage bill you/he got every month; it is usually listed as a separate amount from the actual loan. 2. Check the  paperwork you received when you got the loan.  3.  Call the lender.

Depending how long the loan has been in existence, he may have had it removed after paying down the loan 5+ years, depending on the value of the house compared to the loan balance.  Often you have to get an appraisal to prove to the lender that you owe less than the value of the house.
