    The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum is located in Atlanta, Georgia. It houses papers and other related material to the administration of the Carter Presidency and to Carter's family. The library hosts a number of other exhibits in the form of Carter's Noble Peace Prize and the United States Bill of Rights. The total area covered by the centre is around 6480 square meters or 69750 square feet. Around 15000 square feet is dedicated to exhibits and approximately 20,000 square feet of additional space is for the archives and storage.

    The National Archives and Records Administration run the library and museum and forms a part of the Federal Government's Presidential Library System. Part of the facility is privately owned and this includes the offices of the former President and the Carter Centre's offices. The facility was first opened on the 1st of October 1986 on the 62nd birthday of former President Jimmy Carter.
