 Myrtle Beach gets its name from the Wax myrtle shrub found growing all through the area. Myrtle Beach is actually the name of a city located in Horry County in South Carolina in the United States. It may be found in a region that is known as the Grand Strand, stretching from Georgetown in South Carolina right up to Calabash in North Carolina.

Myrtle Beach is popular as the largest community located in The Grand Strand, which is a core tourist destination, popular for its extensive beaches, great seafood restaurants, ample choice of challenging golf courses, as well as its outlet-style shopping opportunities. The Myrtle Beach area is a hub for more than 14 million visitors each year.

Every year, Myrtle Beach gets its summer season of to a great start with the Sun Fun Festival which is held at the beginning of June.
