Who Won The Fa Cup In 1989?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In 1989, the FA Cup Final was contested between Liverpool and Everton, a Merseyside 'derby'. The match was particularly poignant, coming as it did so soon after the Hillsborough disaster which killed 96 Liverpool fans at the FA Cup Semi-final tie between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
Having disposed of Forest when that match was eventually played, Liverpool went on to win the Final 3-2 with goals from John Aldridge and two by Ian Rush. This final is sometimes referred to as 'The Requiem Final'
