Log into MSN Messenger. Click on the arrow next to your display name. Scroll down and click on 'Personal settings.
A window will appear. On the list of options on the left hand side of the window, click on 'Messages'.
In the section, 'Message History', tick the box next to 'Automatically keep a history of my conversations'. The option underneath should now be highlighted. This option allows you to view your last conversations in new conversation windows. Tick the box if you wish.
Next, you will be able to view where the conversations will be saved. If you are happy with the location which the conversations will be saved in then click 'OK' to apply the options. If you wish to save the conversations somewhere else then click on 'Change', select a different location and then click 'OK' to apply the options.
All your MSN conversations should now be saved.
