How Do I Line On A Spinning Reel?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Pull off old line through line guides until there is plenty of space on the spool for a new line.  Line guides are rings on the rod through which a fishing line is passed. Make it a point to leave some line from spool to the rod guides

Always leave some line from the spool to the rod guides and past the end of the rod to tie new line to the end of old line with the help of a couple of clinch knots. Keep the spool of the new line of floor in such a way that the line comes off spool, quite like it goes on a reel spool. It is important to hold the line tight with the left hand above the reel. Reel line onto reel gradually in a manner that makes it spooled securely. Fill the spool within 1/8 inch of spool lip. You do not need to fill the whole spool as only 50 yards of line is enough for fishing.
