Why Is The Land Of The Midnight Sun Called That?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Above the Arctic Circle (and below the Antarctic Circle) the sun does not set at the Summer Solstice, hence it shines at midnight. The downside is that, at the Winter Solstice, it never rises, so it becomes 'the land of the midday dark'.
