How Does Ms Project Compare With Ms Access And Ms EXCEL?

    Each of the products described are microsoft and therefore inherently share common features.   The basic differences can be boiled down into

    MS Project - is used to track the status of complex projects that have dependencies establishing a simulated start and finish for the project based on user inputs.  Tasks to be performed are laid out with relationships to tasks the must be completed before this task can be performed.  This logic is carried throughout a "project plan".

    MS Access - is a database that is used to manage large amounts of data by creating links within the various tables of data performing analysis and creating complex calculations and derivations from data and reports.

    MS Excel - is a financial tool that performs mathematical calculations and organizes data into tabular form within worksheets.   Many worksheets can be contained within one file.
