As a general rule, for the first five feet, a person should weigh a hundred pounds. For every inch above this, five more pounds are added to this weight. So, at five feet four inches, your ideal weight should be 120 pounds.
You may go a couple of pounds beyond this too depending on your frame. A better way to determine what your ideal weight should be is by calculating your BMI (Body Mass Index). Its formula is:
BMI= [weight in poundsx703]/[height in inches]2
A good weight would be any that falls within the range of 18.5 and 24.9 of BMI. You should try to attain a BMI of around 21.
The important thing is that as long as you look good and you are getting good food and exercise, your weight should not be a problem. A good way of making sure that you look good is drinking a lot of water and getting plenty of physical exercise. If you try to reduce your weight by diet alone, you would not only feel very weak but would probably look emaciated too. So just be active and be happy!
