What Was The Latest News On The Arrested Indian Cricketer Maninder Singh?

Former Indian cricketer Maninder Singh who was recently arrested by the police on the charges of possession of drugs, which was found at his residence by the Indian police authorities, was expected to be acquitted after submitting a series of necessary documents, which included a bail of 1190 dollars that was equivalent to 50000 Indian rupees as reported by the deputy commissioner of police A.S. Cheema.  

The player was released after he paid the bail and submitted the documents and the reason given for this simple formula for acquittal was the fact that the quantity of drugs that were found in the possession of Maninder Singh was relatively small and paltry.  This logic was presented in the Press Trust of India news agency as quoted by Judge S.C. Malik.  In the alternative case, Maninder Singh could have been convicted and that would have led him to serve a jail sentence for six months and a fine of Rs.10000 (equivalent to 240 dollars).
