Generally two people talking about the same topic and responding to what the other person says. It is a lot of fun. The better debates are timed. One person makes a comment for the time allotted. Then the opposing person says what is wrong with that statement plus adds some information of his own. This goes on until the time allotted is over. You see it all the time on CNN,FOX and MSNBC but they do not call then debates.
