In a pit? Its easy. Start a big fire. Dig a hole. Find and put some river rocks to put into your fire. Find a burlap sack and soak it in water. Get something to cook. Spice it. A whole turkey or goat works nicely. Wrap it with the wet burlap and put it onto the rocks and put some more on top.
Then pile dirt onto it all to cover. Walk away for 6-8 hours. Return and dig it all out. Cool some and eat.
