Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

In the cat kingdom, Siamese kittens have the paramount and proverbial echelon when it comes to the selection of a pet cat.  Being probably one of the most well known and the most loved out of all the members of the feline species throughout the entire world. They prove to be quite amicable pets.

In other words, the favourite time for Siamese cats or Siamese kittens is the time that they spend with their human family.  However they are very demanding of attention, needing it perpetually, which illustrates the intense level of attention that the Siamese species tends to develop with their human families.  Moreover they are also one of the most intelligent cat species and their fascinating antics are always a bewitching treat to encounter. As far as physical appearance is concerned, Siamese kittens are quite lissome in nature with a graceful body that makes them look athletic and flexible.

Siamese cats came to the U.S. as an oddity, when one was given to President Rutherford B. Hayes in the late 19th century as a pet by the ambassador of Siam (now called Thailand).  In the 1970s, President Gerald R. Ford's daughter, Susan, continued the tradition of having a Siamese cat in the White House.

Siamese are chiefly valued for their odd coloration, which is actually a form of albinism. In addition to the classic seal point with a cream-colored body and dark brown "points" on their faces, ears, tails, and legs, Siamese can have points of purplish-grey (lilac) or striped (lynx).

Siamese cats have other genetic mutations. They often have crossed eyes or vision problems. They may have a kink in their tails. Long-haired Siamese (Himalayan) are the result of years of breeding, as Siamese cats are by definition short-furred.Siamese are known for their intelligence and mischief-making. They are also great "talkers," and will engage you in a dialogue with loud, insistent voices. For some reason, Siamese are also are more long-lived than other domestic cats. I owned a Siamese cat that died at age 19.
