What Is The Lowest Common Denominator For 16, 24, 2, 3, 3 And 9?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The term 'lowest common denominator' is used for the term least common multiple but it is used only when you are using it in the form of fraction and the terms are being used as the denominators. To find out the least common multiple (LCD) of the numbers 16, 24, 2, 3, 3 and 9 you will have to find out the lowest number that can be divided by all the above mentioned numbers; the number is 144.

If you divide the number by all the numbers that you have mentioned, you will find that they all are dividing the number exactly and also it is the lowest term that has the property to get divided with all of them and so it is called the LCD of the numbers.
