There are a number of illegal Afghan residents in Iran, which Iran is attempting to expel from its home territory.  Nevertheless in the aftermath of Iran's expulsion of those illegal Afghan residents, two Afghan cabinet ministers were sacked in Kabul as according to the reports issued by the Iranian state media.  Judging from this situation, the Iranian government has decided to slow down the process of expelling the illegal Afghan residents and execute the entire process in a more organized and steady manner and refrain from impetuous and hasty implementations.  From a statistical standpoint, about 85000 illegal Afghan residents have been sent back to their homeland Afghanistan by Iran in the course of its most intensively operated drive to rid its territory of illegal residents.  The figures of Afghans with no legal status in Iran constitutes to about 1 million people.  Most of them are Shiite Hazara or belong the Sunni Persian-speaking sect of Tajiks.
