Murrayfield Stadium is located in Murrayfield, a locality in the city of Edinburgh. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland in the United Kingdom. The stadium was opened on March 21 in the year 1925. It is the home ground of the Scottish national rugby union team. Apart from rugby union matches, Murrayfield has also played host to association football (soccer) and American football matches and rock concerts. It is a well-known stadium in the world of rugby.

The architect of the stadium is Connor Milligan. The Scottish Rugby Union (abbreviated as the SRU) is the current owner and tenant of Murrayfield Stadium. The stadium was renovated at a cost of approximately 50 million pounds in the year 1995. Murrayfield Stadium has the capacity to accommodate about 67, 500 spectators. The first visitors to Murrayfield Stadium were Scotland's rivals from across the border, England, who lost to the hosts. It was this win over their traditional arch-rivals that won the Scots their first-ever Five Nations Championship Grand Slam, a rare honour in international rugby.
