I've been talking to this guy online and on the phone for awhile now and we want to meet but I'm not sure cause I've never done it before and heard some strange stories about ppl meeting online. He seems nice enough, but how do I ''really'' know..?

if its been for a while that you been talking to this guy then go for it. What you can do is let a friend know where you are and see if she would go and just watch over or have a double date. If you really like this guy go for it. Good luck to you!

Well he lives 4 hrs away and I have to go to him cause he works and I don't have any friends to even go with me..I am taking one of my kids though..we've only been talking online and on phone for a few wks but dont plan to see him till next month
I met my fiancee in an auto racing chat room. We chatted online for a year before we went to the phone. We then talked for hours every night for 6 more months until he came to visit me. We hit it off right away and have now been together 6 years... 3 under the same roof. If you're careful, it's not a bad way to meet someone. Do your homework... Remember there's national databases you can check if you're worried.

Stay in public areas in view of plenty of people. Depending on your meeting plans, taking your child may/may not be a good idea. Perhaps even choose a half way point so you still have neutral turf.
