Which Language Only Knows 3 Vocals? Is It Greek Or Turkish?

Answer Question

In fact it' the High-Arabic language where only the vocals a i and u are used, which can be spoken short or long. The consonants surrounding these vocals determine how it is pronounced, and this varies very strongly indeed.

Arabic belongs to the semitic branch of the afro-asian Language family. Many dialects have developed over the years and regions far apart can hardly understand the other's dialect. A film made in Algeria would run with sub-.titles in High-Arabic in Iran, for example.

What keeps the Arabic language together as a common language family is in fact the Islamic religion. This is clearly visible by Maltese-language (spoken on the island of Malta), which is originally also a Maghreb-language, but as a Christian island has undergone modern changes and can therefore be counted as a completely separate language.

High-Arabic is, however, nowhere actually a spoken language and is as such not regarded as a modern standard-language. It lacks many expressions of modern science and the modern world in general.
