Indians used to go for superstitious stuff all the time. It was believed by them that their superstitious is better for the sake of their success and it will also keep them away from death and other dangers of life. It is not of Pakistani origin but Indian. Indians used to believe so and that is why Pakistanis also believe so.

Examples:
-- Pakistanis believe that if a cat will cross their way then they would not be able to do what they are intending to do.
-- If a crow is shouting on the roof then it means that there will be guests coming in the evening.
-- If right eye is bulking then it means something good is going to happen.
--      If left eye is bulking then there will be going to happen something bad.
-- If you are going somewhere and someone is going to shout from the back then you should not go somewhere otherwise your life will be at risk.
-- Palmistry is also an impact of Hindu society.
-- A widow should not wear coloured dresses otherwise she will be breaching the rules of nature of religion.
