Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Layer peeled potatoes very finely cut into a dish greased with butter, with salt, pepper and garlic in between each layer. Set aside. Mix one cup of cream with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold milk which has been well mixed and put in a saucepan. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Pour over the potatoes. Sprinkle the top with paprika and cook on HIGH for 12 minutes. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serves 4-6

Or you can make a beshamel sauce, put about a tablespoon of butter in a sauce pan with a few tablespoons of flour. It cooks out the flour taste trust me. Stir it, when it starts to turn golden brown add about 3/4 of a cup to a cup of milk (slowly so there are no clumps) stir it in slowly and let it thicken. Salt and pepper to your taste, this is also super good if you add cheese into it, like grier, especially with potatoes.
